This website and all its original content in Portuguese are 100% conceived and written by a human. To make knowledge accessible to more people, versions in other languages are generated locally via machine translation using Argos Translate, without sending data to AI corporations at this stage. Some translations are later reviewed with the help of an AI tool (in anonymous mode, not used for training) and by volunteers. If you, dear reader, are willing to contribute to the translation in your native language, or one you know well, please send an email to contato@ronscf.com indicating the excerpt to be corrected and the correction. The translated version may contain inaccuracies. Please refer to the original in Portuguese or the English/Spanish translation whenever there is a confusing point.
Colophon
How the site is made
Well! My website is handmade using the good old HTML/CSS/JS. I use Python for automatic translation, but that doesn't say much about the original content, it's just about the internationalization. I write blog posts in AbiWord and then format them in HTML. Gallery photos are taken with my Motorola, and the icons are SVGs made at https://editor.method.ac/. My website does not collect data or track traffic; it only saves your language preference in your browser's local storage to remember it while you browse.
Hosting
For information about my domain, check https://www.whois.com/. My website is hosted on Codeberg Pages, and that's it, no mystery.
Source code
I write using the semantics I prefer, utilizing microformats for authentication and identification. When I have time, I try to leave the original code well-formatted and documented. The translations, on the other hand, being numerous and auto-generated weekly, might be a little messy for now, but one day they will be as beautiful as the original.
Translation
I translate locally using Argos Translate. I use online translators to review paragraphs, and I seek help from volunteers for manual translations.
IndieWeb
The IndieWeb is wonderful. Every day I find a different website from someone interesting. My website is part of the IndieWeb; you should make one too.
Layout
The fonts used on my site are public domain: Alteixsans and Audiowide. The background color is the most common dark theme on the web, the famous #121212, and the other colors are shades of gray.
Stance on AI
Unlike most alarmists, I consider Artificial Intelligence a promising field in Computer Science. It is the misuse of science that causes disasters, disgrace, and curses. I am in favor of researching sustainable forms of AI. Current AI is not part of my research field; I research computational rationality focused on linguistics and basal intelligence. My website uses language models for automatic translation while explicitly stating in robots.txt that I forbid the use of AI. A paradox? Hypocrisy? Whatever, I'd rather be wrong than get into a fight I wasn't invited to.
